You all have been there wanting to unlock your iPhone, but wearing a face mask forces you to have to put in the code to unlock it. The New iOS 14.5 will allow you to Unlock iPhone Face ID While Wearing Face Mask just follow these steps and you will be on your way… oh you will need an Apple Watch by the way.
Unlock iPhone Face ID While Wearing Face Mask Will Require:
- iPhone with FaceID
- Apple Watch Series 3 or Newer
- iOS 14.5 on iPhone
- Watch OS 7.4 on Apple Watch
- Wrist detection turned On
- Wifi and Bluetooth need to be turned on
Once you have all the required things you can follow these steps to turn it on and be able to Unlock iPhone Face ID While Wearing Face Mask which will not put your security or privacy at much risk besides minor and rare possible scenarios which I talk about towards the end of this article/guide:
You will head to settings which is the cogs looking icon on your iPhone and in there you will need to head over to the green Face ID icon
Click the Face ID and Passwords which you can tell which one it is by selecting the green smiling Face ID icon in settings which you get top by scrolling a little bit down. Once you click it you will be taken to another screen where you need to put in your iPhone Passcode which you use to unlock your device.
Once you have inputted your passcode you will be granted access to the Face ID settings were you need to scroll down and find the Unlock with Apple Watch feature and enable it by sliding it to turned on. Once it activates which might take a few seconds or a minute, you will be able to slide up on the Lock Screen and it will fail to unlock first which it will vibrate the lock on the lock screen then it will unlock and your Apple Watch will vibrate letting you know with that vibration and a notification that your iPhone was unlocked.
You can lock your iPhone once more with the notification of your Apple Watch just in case you did not intend to unlock it or someone was really close to you and they unlocked it being really close to you like behind you in a table or on the other side of it.
Don’t Worry Unlock iPhone Face ID While Wearing Face Mask is safe and secure!
This feature will lower the security of your iPhone by opening, although, a small crack for someone to get into your iPhone without needing your Passcode to unlock it, but they won’t be able to authenticate purchases or really do anything that requires a passcode or Face ID inside your iPhone since the unlock with Apple Watch feature is intended to only get into your phone and not much else.
The distance is so short that unless you are completely obliviousR or sleeping this isn’t a security risk to your privacy. How To Unlock iPhone With Face Mask On?
You will need to have iOS 14.5 and Watch OS 7.4 installed on your Face ID enabled iPhone and Series 3 or newer Apple Watch respectively. Turn the feature on inside the Face ID Settings which is located Settings>Face ID & Passwords>Apple Watch Unlock
