Monitors are synonym with PC gaming, but what are the best monitors for PS5? There are a lot of great monitors on the market, but I’ll help you find the perfect one for your needs. Whether you want a large monitor or something more compact, I have you covered. Let’s take a look at some of the best monitors for PS5 gaming!
Before we go ahead and discuss the best monitors for PS5 I want to premise with the fact that when it comes to refresh rate almost any monitor, regardless of price will deliver the necessary hertz for you to play at the maximum FPS of any game on the PlayStation 5.
The input delay is also going to be below the four or 2 ms range at almost any price range for a monitor specially if it’s above $200. On the TV side of things you are looking at TVs that are double the price for almost the same input delay. You need to spend more than $500 in order to get a decent low input delay TV when compared to a monitor.
Variable, refresh rate, or VRR, for short, is one of the features that I highly recommend getting, which only works with AMD free sync, capable monitors, or actual, VR or capable monitors. You can see the letters and I will let you know which ones do and which ones do not, but do not get Nvidia G Sync only capable monitors because those will not work with your PlayStation 5 variable refresh rate technology.
You also need to know that, even though monitors are cheaper, and they do have higher refresh rate than most TVs, the color, accuracy, and contrast of blacks are usually lower quality, in short, the video quality on a monitor is not going to be better on average than a TV once you compare them to a $500 – $700 plus TV versus any monitor regardless of price.
In the TV market in order to get a variable refresh rate and 120 FPS capable TV you do need to spend almost double what a monitor cost on average, but if you do go around the $500-$750 range for a TV you are getting bigger screen, and better color or image in general, but usually double the input delay, then an equivalent monitor in price.
With today’s technology and pricing not being an issue honestly, it’s all about preference and what you need because monitors are smaller and some people like to game on that for competitive gaming and portability, while others prefer bigger screens and better image quality regardless of price so with that being said, let’s get down and dirty with the best monitors for PS5.
1. Don’t buy an Ultra Wide monitor for your PS5 – The best monitors for PS5
SAMSUNG Odyssey Ark 55-Inch Curved Gaming Screen, 4K UHD 165Hz 1ms (GTG) Quantum Mini-LED Gamer Monitor w/Cockpit Mode, Sound Dome Technology, Multi View, HDR10+ (S55BG970NN) 2022
$1,999.99
I know it is tempting to go ahead and buy an Ultra Wide monitor because it is really cool but trust me it is not worth it. Your PlayStation five does not support it and on PC a lot of games still don’t support the Ultra Wide format aspect ratio. Therefore, you need a mod in order to get the game to run correctly in such aspect ratio and modeling your PlayStation five it’s not something you’re gonna be able to do so just stop thinking about it.
If you really need to have an Ultra Wide, then you need to get a PC. Here are some of my favorite Ultra Wide monitors, but this is besides appoint let’s move on…
