Set up a Multi Stream in 3 Simple Steps

Set up a Multi Stream

Multi Streaming has never been easier. In just three simple steps you could be live on 30+ different platforms by only hitting one single broadcast button.

A traditional steam is broadcasted by OBS or Streamlabs OBS directly to your platform of choice. A Multi Stream is broadcasted by OBS or Streamlabs OBS to a third party service, which then broadcasts your stream to multi platforms. Therefore multi streaming does not require additional resources from your PC.

Step 1

Choose a multi streaming software of your choice. This software you need in addition to OBS Studio or Streamlabs OBS, it does not replace this software.

There are two major multi streaming softwares out there. Restream and Streamlabs Prime. At first you will need to set up an account with your software of choice. Both services are subscription based services. However; Restream does offer a very limited and watermarked free option, which Streamlabs OBS does not.

Both services work the exact same way, however; if Streamlabs OBS is your streaming software, you might find it convenient to run your multi stream through them, since it does not require any additional setup.

Step 2

Now that you have logged in, you need to choose the platforms you want to multi stream to, for example Facebook Gaming, YouTube and Twitch. Through your software you will sign into all these accounts. You only need to connect them once.

Step 3

If you are using Streamlabs OBS to multi stream, you do not need to do this step. Once you connect your accounts you wish to multi stream to, Streamlabs OBS will broadcast to all of them when you hit the broadcast button.

If you decide to use Restream, you need to tell your streaming software to broadcast to Restream instead of to the platform directly. Locate your settings → Stream → plug in the stream key Restream is providing you. You only need to do this once.

This is how to Multi Stream in 3 Simple Steps. I also compiled step by step guides like How to Stream to Twitch or How to Stream to Facebook Gaming in which I walk you through every step of the way and also show you how to Set up your Microphone and Webcam.
